IN THE LIST OF BEST LUXURY RESORTS IN BOHOL
The room isn’t that big but the first thing we noticed is how relaxing and clean the neutral and earth tones color choices are. We also loved how they added Philippine decorative accessories and lighting made out of sustainable, natural materials. We saw locally hand woven mats framed as wall decors, abaca carpet, wooden trunk table, native resort bag, rattan storage baskets, woven tissue holder, Filipino-designed and woven bed runner, bamboo holders and many more. Not only was the room filled with Filipino touches but also every corner of the resort has Filipino-inspired decors that are slowly immersing you into our very own Filipino culture.
The Amenities
The room is complete with all the amenities that you need. It is air-conditioned, has a flat screen cable TV, internet, water heater, hair dryer and mini-bar.
The Bathroom
We love Amun Ini’s bathroom! It is so clean and doesn’t get dirty easily. Probably the highlight there would be the see-through glass visit here window that gives you a view of the bed and balcony. On each side are mirrors for him and her that you can flip when you need it. It also has a huge mirror perfect for OOTDs and two wooden cabinet shelves enough to store your things. Both the toilet and shower area have a relaxing overlooking garden view.
The Balcony
Also our favorite part of the room is the outdoor balcony. From there, you can see the natural gardens, the resort’s infinity pool and the calming waters. Also, can you notice the pebbles in the balcony? Walking barefoot through stones and pebbles is a form of therapy as stepping on stones stimulates gentle accupressure on the soles of your feet, therefore promoting better health.
Even without them saying it, to us it was so evident that Amun Ini is an eco-friendly resort. We didn’t see any plastic containers in the room and around the resort. Everything was reusable and environment-friendly, which is a very good thing.
5. EXCELLENT HOUSEKEEPING
This is definitely one of the things that surprised us the most about Amun Ini. We’ve been to a lot of luxury resorts in Bohol with top-notch facilities and outstanding services like that of Amorita Resort but it’s the first time that we encountered the kind of housekeeping style that Amun Ini has.
We arrived at our rooms, placed our luggages and went outside to explore. When we got back to our room after dinner, the bed runner was already placed in the cabinet, the excess pillows on the bed were moved to the sofa and the morning amenities like the coffee, tea and heater were already placed on the table for easy access. It’s like they arranged the room for us, ready for bedtime.
The next morning, while we enjoyed our breakfast at the restaurant, they also took the time to clean our room, replenish what we consumed, arrange unnecessary mess — all while taking care of our valuables and personal stuff.
When it rained, they already went ahead of us and placed an umbrella outside our door even before we asked for it. They made sure our room was well-kept during our entire stay.
6. AL-FRESCO DINING WITH A VIEW AND GREAT FOOD
Amun Ini is well-known for its outstanding cuisine in this side of Bohol. As a family-owned resort, the cuisine they serve is a narrative of their family’s culinary heritage and experience. They have taken their family-held recipes, made use of fresh and locally grown ingredients, and use first-class culinary techniques to create a menu that guests love.
The al-fresco restaurant is the focal point of the resort which has a scenic view of their infinity pool, the beach, the ocean and Camiguin island in the horizon. From the thatched roof to their hanging decors, lighting, tables, wine counter and the staff’s traditional Boholano dresses, we’ve never felt so at home that we spent a huge amount of our time there.
We love their beef caldereta, boneless chicken, crispy thin crust shrimp pizza, pan seared fish fillet, their lava cake and literally everything in their breakfast menu as well. Their food is just so good and legit, even just in the restaurant is already an experience in itself.
7. INFINITY POOL AND SECLUDED WHITE SAND BEACH
Just a few steps in front of the restaurant is the resort’s infinity pool which has an overlooking view of the clear blue waters of Bohol. What’s cool about their pool is that it has ‘’sploungers’’ that are immersed into ankle-deep pool waters. You can also lounge in the day beds by the pool side. The resort’s infinity pool is also perfect for diving pool sessions.
